Alabama’s Numeracy Act assigns each elementary school a math coach trained in evidence-based practices. Coaches support teachers with data-driven development focused on the 4 Strands of Math Proficiency: conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, real-world problem-solving skills, and productive dispositions—building school-wide capacity.
