North Dakota promotes high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) in grades K-8 through a state-approved list. To strengthen transparency and consistency, the state could require districts to adopt HQIM and publicly post their selected materials.

To become proficient in math, students need to develop mathematical proficiency which is a combination of real-world problem-solving skills, procedural fluency, conceptual understanding, and productive dispositions.
