Delaware promotes student success in advanced math by requiring students to complete Algebra I. To ensure algebra readiness, the state could require a state-approved screener for grades K-8 administered at least three times per year.

To become proficient in math, students need to develop mathematical proficiency which is a combination of real-world problem-solving skills, procedural fluency, conceptual understanding, and productive dispositions.
