New Mexico
New Mexico supports math achievement with a state-approved screener with parental notification for students who need support within 15 days of the screening. To increase impact, the state could require K-8 screeners and at least 60 minutes of daily math instruction.
Critical to all principles are the 4 Strands of Math Proficiency in Math Knowledge & Skills.

To become proficient in math, students need to develop mathematical proficiency which is a combination of real-world problem-solving skills, procedural fluency, conceptual understanding, and productive dispositions.
